Whos.amung.us at 360voice

I read about Whos.amung.us a moment ago, so I threw it into the footer of 360voice to see what happens. It tracks the live unique visitors to the site and puts it up as a number. You can also click the number and see the most recent and most popular pages based on unique visits. Give it a try.

Scroll to the bottom of any page on the site to see the current count of active users.

blog-getentries service change

At the request of Durera, I have added another parameter to the blog-getentries service that allows you to identify recap entries from daily entries as well as select only recaps or dailies. The new parameter is:

type (optional) 1=recaps only 0=entries only

Example (recaps only): ChangeAgent

This should give people a little more flexibility.

New Service: Gamertag-profile

I have been running this service for awhile now... and have had a few people using it for API projects... I feel comfortable with how it is performing so I am throwing it out there:

360voice.gamertag.profile
Description: Pass in a gamertag to get profile and stat information.

Arguments:
tag (required)

Sample: ChangeAgent

Use this for any applications where you want information on the gamertag, as well as some of the stats that we run. It doesn't have all the stats... as some of them don't perform outside of our caching which hasn't been folded into all areas of the site... that is an ongoing process.

Back from San Diego

I, ChangeAgent, have returned from my week in San Diego. Needless to say, I am behind on about every aspect of my life! Emails are stacked up... work issues... gaming... family... 360voice enhancements... all if them are in big huge piles on the virtual desk in my brain.

So bear with me as I sort through them all and get things back on track with some 360voice enhancements. Work continues on a bunch of things big and small... hopefully we can talk about them soon!

Reminder: Streaks are ignored today (3/28)

As stated in our outage notice, the blogs are running today, but due to the extended Microsoft outage and the possible inaccuracy of the data due to this, we are not counting any gaming or lack of gaming yesterday towards your streak. If you see a blog entry for 3/28/2007 that says you didn't play, you will not lose your streak.

Streak counting will be active again by the end of today, so make sure you play!

Playing Xbox with Brady Quinn

Well I no longer have to be tight lipped about my recent whereabouts earlier this month... I was in Arizona playing games with Brady Quinn, soon to be star NFL quarterback.

You can read my write up on Xbox.com here in Gamerspeak.

And you can read Brady's point of view on his Xbox.com blog.

If you have any questions for me beyond what's covered in the write ups, please post it in this forum thread and I will let you know!

Update: The story is also posted on Gamerscoreblog, thanks guys!

Stephen Sopp, aka Fatty Chubs, one of our Xbox MVPs from 360voice.com, got a chance to help NFL Brady Quinn prepare for an upcoming Game With Fame.  Fatty went in confident, but soon learned a lesson in humility.

ChangeAgent out of town this week.

I just want to let everyone know I am headed to the eTech 2007 conference this week. So if you submit support emails or requests, Steve will do his best to keep up... I will have wifi, but will be sitting in sessions all day and partying all night, so don't think I am ignoring you!

As always, your best bet for getting an answer to a question is to email us using the contact form.

If you have been with us since the beginning, it was last year's eTech 2006 conference that gave me the idea for this site. I wonder what new inspiration lurks in the minds of the speakers? We shall see!

Xbox Live Outage (3/27) and your blog.

Just a heads up, there is a scheduled Xbox Live maintenance period on 3/27 for most of the day. What does this mean for your blog, and your streak?

Since the service will be down for 14 hours, streaks will not be counted on the 27th.  You will have a blog entry, so any gameplay in the remaining 10 hour window will display, but it won't count for or against your streak. Remember though, unless there are unknown issues, streaks for the surrounding days (26th and 28th) will still be counted.  So if you want to keep your streak alive, get some gaming in before 11:30PM PST on the 26th.

Did you notice the 11:30PM PST capture time? With the live service going down, you will need a bit of buffer time in there for your games to report!  Got it? As always send any questions you might have or leave them in the comments. Just remember... to get games on your blog finish playing your games BEFORE the outage happens! Any games played by 11:30pm PST on the 26th should be captured.

Community Showcase forum

We previously had a Community Showcase forum where 360voice members could show off the great things they have created with our API. It was suggested by DarkSteelKiller that this was too restrictive and people needed a more open place to post other community creations... fan art... stories... videos... etc.

The new Community Showcase is now that place:

Show off what you create! Fan art! Stories! Banners! Music! Videos! Did you use the 360voice API? If you made it, we want to know about it. Make a thread now!

Go post something!
