When Halo 2 came out and I was gaming long periods online, almost every day, I made the decision to upgrade my headset. I was a little reluctant to put $40-$50 into a headset, when I had one that worked fine. However I got the Halo 2 headset, and for as much as I used it, it was worth every penny.
Now that Gears is out, I wanted to upgrade past the standard Xbox 360 headset. I am going to be online a lot more and need something that is more comfortable and convenient. So I was very excited to see the wireless headset come out. I've been using it all week so here is my review.
The device comes with the headset, a charger cable that plugs into an outlet, and a extra slightly different size ear strap. It attaches to your ear pretty comfortably, nothing goes in your ear, just a small pad the rests against it. You can bind up to 4 on your Xbox 360, and it has little indicator lights to let you know which player it binded to. You can adjust the volume on the headset, mute, and turn it off all pretty easy while you are playing, and it has indicator beeps to let you know what you hit.
I used it for a pretty long time the night I got it, and it was very comfortable the whole time. Also the sound quality is very good. I have sent messages, chatted and used it in games with other wireles headset users and it all was very clear. I found it picks up your voice really well, and picks up about the same amount of ambient noise as the standard headset.
Bottom line, this is a headset I am going to be using the next 4-5 years I think, so the cost split over that time is nothing for the comfort and the ability to go completely wireless. I really have nothing bad to say about this headset in the first week of use. I would recommend it for anyone who plays online a lot.

I'm getting one for Christmas! YAY!
It sucks that I need to wait till then. Well, back to gaming with my crumby Xbox 360 *cough* WIRED *cough* Headset made by Microsoft. Which I must also add that 2 of them I had didn't work.
You purchase some Xbox 360 WIRELESS Controllers, but yet you must use a WIRED headset? I'm glad they finally came out with a wireless headset, now I just need to get it.

My only comment about the wireless headset (because yes, I got one to go with my copy of Gears too =P) is that if you're in a house with a lot of wireless noise, like mine (phones, WLAN, Bluetooth, etc) it may drop out on you occasionally (it's been about once every 30 to 45 min for me, and a power cycle seems to get it reconnected). Other than that, no complaints.

I returned mine. I was getting random drops also, and I went through the house to try to isolate the problem by turning off cell phones, cordless phones, etc. Nothing helped, so I returned the headset for a Halo 2 Plantronics headset, to which I added mute and volume. I really wanted this to be as solid as the controlled, but alas, it was not to be. I know of several people who are having the same issues with the headset. If it works, more power to you - you are lucky.
